Weddings at Gawsworth – the perfect bespoke venue
Few settings offer the romance of Gawsworth Hall, one of Britain’s most beautiful Tudor manor houses, and once home to Mary Fitton, the dark lady of Shakespeare’s sonnets. Book your wedding, reception or civil partnership with us and enjoy exclusive use of the Hall, gardens and ornate grounds.
Ceremony
Fresh flowers are provided in the Long Hall, our oak-beamed marriage room, which can accommodate up to 46 guests, plus the bride and groom. Once the ceremony has taken place, the wedding party may leave via the courtyard double-doors for drinks in the rose garden. Photographs may be taken anywhere in the grounds and certain rooms in the Hall if the weather is poor.
Fee: £995.00 +VAT
Reception
Marquees are sited on the Camomile lawn between the Church and the Hall, overlooking the lake. Or the sunken lawn in the Hall courtyard. This gives you and your guests the best opportunity to enjoy the setting, with plenty of room for outside seating in the summer months. The below facility fee includes the exclusive use of the gardens, electricity for lighting, and a water supply.
Fee: £1,950 +VAT
Ceremony and Reception
Gawsworth is the perfect option should you require a small, intimate ceremony, followed by a larger reception for family and friends in the Hall grounds. With over a decade of experience we can provide a bespoke service against the backdrop of one of Cheshire’s most beautiful homes. Viewings are encouraged so you can experience first-hand the peace and romance of this historic Tudor manor house.
Fee: £2,500 +VAT
Garden Ceremonies
Should you require a larger space than our intimate Long Hall ceremony room, we are also licensed to hold outdoor ceremonies in the beautiful grounds of Gawsworth Hall, with its many features dating from Elizabethan times, or your wedding marquee.
The Grounds
The sunken lawn, courtyard rose garden, rookery and ancient pleasure garden, are all available for your wedding photos. As are walks by the lake (one of a series of five) that together with the mile long tudor wall and St James the Great church encloses the gardens.
