21 July 2022

7.30pm performance

Often hailed as the First Lady of British Folk, Kate Rusby announced herself to the music press in 1999 with a Mercury Music Prize, and has since headlined everywhere from the Royal Albert Hall to Cambridge Folk Festival.

Summer 2022 sees her celebrate 30 years as a professional musician, with a new album, 30: Many Happy Returns. A remarkable, interpretive singer, Kate’s soulful vocals resonate. Inhabiting a lyric with unforced conviction, she has a rare ability to transport her audience.

The recent reimagined covers album Hand Me Down was a Radio 2 favourite, showcasing her rare crossover appeal and wondrous vocals via standout hit-singles like Manic Monday.

We can’t wait to welcome Kate and her talented band back to Gawsworth once more.

Performances take place on a large festival stage in front of the Hall. The seating area is uncovered.

Please bring your own garden chair. Gazebos, fishing brollies, parasols etc are allowed, but not in the main seating area.

No children under six years old may attend performances.
